In short

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and loads no content from other providers, so no third-party fonts, maps or videos either. Personal data only comes up because our server writes technical logs when the site is accessed, and when you send us an email.

Hosting and server logs

The website runs on a server that we rent from STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, and administer ourselves. On every visit, our web server automatically stores technical details in log files:

This data is needed to deliver the website, keep it running securely and detect and fend off attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Full IP addresses are only kept until the log file is switched over each day, so for about one day at most. After that we shorten them: the last block of IPv4 addresses and the last group of IPv6 addresses is removed. We delete the shortened logs after seven days. If attacks come from an IP address, our server may block it temporarily and stores it for the duration of the block.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with STRATO under Art. 28 GDPR.

Links to Google Play

The Google Play button on the home page is an ordinary link; the image is stored on our server, so nothing is loaded from Google when you open the page. The link contains a tag (for example utm_source=website) that lets Google Play see that an install came through this website. Only when you click the link do you go to Google; what Google processes then is covered by Google's privacy policy. We only see aggregated figures, such as how many installs came through the website.

Contact by email

If you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries about a contract. Our mailbox is also on our server at STRATO. We delete your message once your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations require otherwise.

Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Just send us an email.

Right to object

Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interests, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

Right to lodge a complaint

You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony (Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen), Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany.

Changes

We update this policy when the website or the law changes. The version published here always applies.
