Purchases and subscription in the Truth or Dare app

Last updated: October 2026

This page is a translation. The German version is the authoritative one.

Who sells

In the app you can buy single modes or all modes together as one-time purchases and, depending on the offer, take out a subscription. If you buy all modes, every new mode is added by app update at no extra cost. The app is made by us: Niklas Dette, Exotic Productions (legal notice). The purchase is handled by the store you got the app from: Google Play or Apple's App Store. The store shows you the price before you buy, takes the payment and sends you the receipt.

Which company you buy from depends on your country and is set out in the store's terms (Google Play, Apple):

How the subscription renews

The subscription unlocks all modes, including every new one, for as long as it runs. It runs for one week and renews automatically for one more week at a time until you cancel. The store charges the price at the start of each week. It is best to cancel at least 24 hours before the current week ends, otherwise you may still be charged for the next one. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

Cancel the subscription

The quickest way is in the app: open the settings and tap “Cancel subscription”. This opens your subscription in the store.

Or directly in the store, following the instructions from Google Play or Apple.

After you cancel, you can keep using the subscription until the end of the week you have paid for.

Withdrawal and refunds

Withdrawals and refund requests go to the store. It handled the purchase, and it pays the money back.

Google Play

Withdrawal: If you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Google's refund policy for these countries applies. Google says about this: you have a statutory right of withdrawal. But when you buy digital content, you agree that you get it immediately and acknowledge that you thereby waive the right of withdrawal. For digital services, Google states a right of withdrawal for 14 days after the purchase, with a full refund. You use the refund request or the withdrawal form for it. You declare a withdrawal to Google, with the model withdrawal form or at the postal address in section 3 of the Google Play Terms of Service. The “Withdraw from contract” item in the app (Settings, “Purchases” section) also takes you to the form.

Refund: You send the request to Google: Request a refund on Google Play. Google says it decides within one to four days. Outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Google refers you to us once more than 48 hours have passed since the purchase; then email us with the order number from the store's receipt (see Contact below). You can also write to us at any other time.

App Store

Withdrawal: Whether you can withdraw is set out in section B of Apple's terms for your country. For Ireland and the United Kingdom, for example, Apple states a right of withdrawal of 14 days from when you received your receipt, and this way to use it: go to Apple Account > Purchase History, select the order and click “Withdraw Transaction”. Apple confirms receipt by email. According to Apple, a subscription can only be withdrawn from after the initial sign-up. As an exception, Apple names content whose delivery has started at your request and with your acknowledgement that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.

Refund: Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose “I'd like to” and then “Request a refund”. (Apple's instructions) Apple says you will hear about your request after 24 to 48 hours. We cannot refund App Store purchases ourselves. Only Apple can.
